From the Desk of the Pastor, Dr. James R. Davis
What a wonderful opportunity afforded Bread of Life Christian Church and Community Center, by God to share His glorious Gospel with the entire world. We believe to be an effective witness for God; we MUST first be active in our local areas before we can impact the world. Acts 1:8 states, “But ye shall be receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” In this text, Jerusalem represents not only your local church, but your neighborhood, your community, and your particular county. In spreading the Gospel message, if we are ineffective at home, then our broader efforts to effect change world-wide will be hindered.
Effective change begins with showing love as commanded by Jesus Christ in John 15:12, “This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.” Until our lives are a reflection of Christ, nothing we do will be of any significant value. Love is the pivotal point in order for any ministry to assist in enlarging the Kingdom of God. We are also -cognizant that everything is about Jesus and not the external things we do to promote our individual ministries.
The vision of Bread of Life Christian Church and Community Center is to become a responsible and accountable caretaker of the charge given to us by God. Therefore, we promote Christ as the road to salvation and the escape from mediocrity, monotony, and a purposeless existence. The solution to the ebbs and flows of life is Christ. Bread of Life Christian Church and Community Ctr is committed to the upward mobility of God’s people, spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, and physically. The best way to accomplish these goals is to fully and completely rely on God as stated in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Also keep in mind Psalm 112:1-3, “Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord that delighteth greatly in His commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon the earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth forever.”
I conclude this letter with a reminder from Isaiah 65:24,”And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
May God Bless You,
James R. Davis
