History and Vision
The Genesis of Bread of Life Christian Church and Community Center, Inc. began in Rocky Mount, N.C. in 2007 at the Opportunity Industrialization
Center where Reuben Blackwell is President. At that time, the name of our church was Wake Chapel Church East, which was an extension of Wake Chapel Church Central in Raleigh, N.C. under the leadership of the Pastor John J. Wilkins, Jr. from whom our commission came.
On March 28, 2008, Wake Chapel Church East changed its name to Wake Chapel Church of Rocky Mount. Being led by the Holy Spirit, it became necessary to change our name for a final time to Bread of Life Christian Church and Community Center, Inc. on June 24, 2009. This change was
based on Acts 20:28-35. Subsequently, the inaugural celebration of our church took place on August 28-30, 2009.
Bread of Life Christian Church and Community Center, Inc., is an interdenominational ministry that works with all churches and organizations that have like beliefs in the God of the Bible or are willing to share their different yet common beliefs in the God of the Bible. Our motto is
“LEARNING IS GOOD; APPLICATION IS BETTER.”
The Great Commission of Matthew 28:19, 20 propelled us in reaching our community and the world for Christ. However, Christ has also directed
us to Luke 14:23, “And the Lord said unto the servant, go out unto the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
THE VISION
The Vision of Bread of Life Christian Church and Community Center, Inc., is:
1. Concerned with the teaching and preaching of the Word of God to empower and enable one to do great exploits for the enlarging of the Kingdom of God.
2. To feed those under its care with good food so that they will be able to develop into a healthy environment, become productive, and be
able to reproduce.
3. To always be connected to the Word of God as an example for others, that gives hope in the midst of despair.
4. To take advantage of this only opportunity we have to win souls for Christ.
5. To follow the example of Christ as recorded in Luke 14:18, 19, ".......To preach the Gospel to the poor; ....to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,....To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
WE GLADLY ACCEPT OUR TASK, TO FEED THE PEOPLE OF GOD.
This is the Church of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, purchased with His own blood.
